Copropraxia involves obscene or inappropriate gestures, such as flipping off (middle finger gestures), grabbing the groin, or mimicking socially unacceptable actions. Like other tics, copropraxia is involuntary, though it can be distressing and embarrassing due to social consequences.
Did you know? The earliest written account of what could be considered copropraxia comes from a book called Malleus Maleficarum (also known as the Hammer of Witches). The book was written in the year 1487!
