Tourette at a party or social event

It's great to have friends that understand, but many of us mask tics in front of others, even close friends.

1 experience has been shared in this environment via the Tic Log.

Parties, a place where self-consciousness can really flare up. And maybe a drink or two help with socialising, but it can make tic worse and isn’t the best long-term solution.

Things to consider:

  • Feeling embarrassed in front of lots of people
  • Using substances to gain confidence, but can make us less self aware
  • Burnout from masking for long periods of time
  • Staying up late can reduce sleep and worsen tics
